A public green space dedicated to celebrating island cultures.
In 2019, CVANB learned that the lot adjacent to our building was available for purchase and after careful consideration and research, successful fundraising enabled CVA-NB to purchase the lot. this greenspace will complement and support our mission and provide additional space for community gatherings and family programs.
Along with our partner WHALE and Studio 2 Sustain, a city-wide volunteer committee is planning and overseeing the financing and construction of the park. A feasibility study informed this process of conceptual designs and a landscape architect has been engaged to manage the project, scheduled for completion in December of 2021.
The design of the project will include seating for games and community interaction and a playscape for families. Grants to support these activities are in progress.
The installation of Eden Soares's mural is only the first step in
heralding this process.
